PC Game Pass will leverage GeForce Now in the coming months

During the “What’s Next For Gaming” panel with team Xbox at the 2023 Xbox Games Showcase, corporate Vice President Sarah Bond said that PC Game Pass members will soon be able to play their catalog on GeForce Now devices.

“I’m thrilled to share with you that in the coming months, we’re actually going to bring GeForce Now as something you can leverage with PC Game Pass,” explained Bond.

“You’re going to be able to play your PC Game Pass catalog leveraging GeForce Now, and you’re going to be able to do that on all devices using GeForce Now, whether it’s low-powered PCs, Macs, Chromebooks, or mobile,” she added. “So, we’re thrilled to add that next benefit for PC Game Pass Members.”

Last month, Microsoft announced that players would be able to stream select games from Xbox Game Studios and Bethesda that were purchased through Steam or the Epic Games Store. Now, it looks like GeForce Now will have even further integration with Microsoft’s games through PC Game Pass.

As for the timeline, Xbox Wire stated that this feature will be coming out in the months ahead. Microsoft committed to bringing more games to GeForce Now earlier this year in order to assuage regulators about its pending acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

The 2023 Xbox Games Showcase premiered and showed off some new titles from Microsoft’s first-party studios. These include InExile’s Clockwork Revolution and Compulsion Games’ South of Midnight. There were also updates on previously announced games such as Forza Motorsport, which will launch on October 10, 2023. Additionally, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II and Avowed were both set to be released sometime in 2024.

All of Xbox’s first-party games are expected to join Xbox and PC Game Pass on the day of their release dates.

You can get a month of Xbox Game Pass for $1 right now

If you aren't currently signed up for Xbox Game Pass, you can currently get your first month for $1. The deal only applies to Game Pass Ultimate and its PC version, though, as the console-only version is still at its full price.

Early in the Xbox Game Pass era, Microsoft would offer $1 onboarding deals for the service. The trick helped the company build a massive user base early on, but it has moved away from that cheap deal in recent years as the service has become a household name with gamers. It's finally available again for anyone who's been waiting for a reason to subscribe, though it's not as eye-popping a deal as it once was.

I rated this summer’s biggest gaming showcases. This was the best one

Over the past month, it's been nice to see the game industry truly get back into the swing of things with its midyear showcase. While there was no E3 this year (and it doesn't look like there will be ones in the future), the likes of Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, Ubisoft, and Geoff Keighley all still held exciting live streams of their own that were filled with surprising announcements and entertaining moments. With the season's biggest gaming showcases seemingly over, I began to ask myself which one I enjoyed most. To figure out what makes an event like this work for me, I devised a rating system built on my own metrics and gave each one a grade.

I considered a variety of factors while looking at these showcases. The quality of the announcements is obviously very important, but so is the pacing of the stream and the relevancy of what's shown. I assigned each showcase a letter grade based on that, with some notes on what worked and what didn't. Here's where each show landed for me.

Xbox Game Pass adds one of 2022’s best racing games this month

Microsoft has revealed that games that will be coming to Xbox Game Pass throughout the rest of June and even into early July. While the list lacks any major exclusives or first-party games, a solid racing game from 2022 and some intriguing indies make it an interesting batch. Thankfully, the losses the service will suffer at the end of the month aren't too bad either.
The most notable game to hit Xbox Game Pass Ultimate during the back half of June will be Need for Speed Unbound. Coming to the service via its EA Play connection, this is a solid racing game that I gave a three-and-a-half-star review last year. At the time, I said it was "a surprisingly entertaining racer in a year that hasn’t seen much racing game excitement since Gran Turismo 7." On the indie side of things, The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales will be a day one Xbox Game Pass release on June 22. It's an isometric adventure game where the main gimmick is that players can enter the worlds of books they come across.
Former PlayStation console exclusive F.I.S.T.: Forged in Shadow Torch will also come to Xbox Series X/S via Xbox Game Pass on June 27. This is the full list of titles you can expect to come to the subscription service between today and July 5.
